Trump Media & Technology Group, owner of the Truth Social platform and associated with US President Donald Trump, recorded a sharp jump in its losses during the second quarter of 2026, mainly affected by the decline in the value of its digital assets, despite revenue growth during the period.

The company announced on Monday that it incurred a net loss of $238.1 million during the quarter ending June 30, compared to a loss of about $20 million in the same period last year, meaning losses increased more than tenfold on an annual basis.

Trump Media explained that the bulk of the losses came as a result of the decline in the value of non-cash assets, noting that more than $190 million of losses were recorded related to digital assets, pledged digital assets, and securities.

The results reflect the extent to which the company’s financial performance has been affected by fluctuations in the digital asset market, after Trump Media moved during the past period to expand its presence in the cryptocurrency sector and diversify its assets away from its core business related to the Truth Social platform.

The company had also announced significant net losses during its first quarter results, attributing the majority of them to lower valuations of cryptocurrency-related assets, indicating the continued impact of digital market volatility on its quarterly results.

Despite the significant losses, Trump Media's revenue rose to $1.7 million during the second quarter, an increase of 89% compared to the same period last year, but the revenue volume remains limited compared to the value of the losses recorded during the period.

At the same time, the company confirmed that it is in a financially sound position to complete the proposed merger with TAE Technologies, a company specializing in nuclear fusion technology.

The deal comes as part of Trump Media’s efforts to diversify its activities away from the media and social media sector and into the fields of technology and advanced energy, in line with the company’s strategy to expand its business and investments.
