European indices saw mixed performances at the start of trading on Thursday, October 16, amid continued volatility in regional markets.

In terms of trading, the STOXX 600 index was stable at 568 points, while the German DAX fell 0.4% to 24,105 points.

The French CAC fell 0.1% to 8,066 points, while the British FTSE fell less than 0.1% to 9,417 points.

This week has been volatile for European markets, which hit a two-week low on Thursday but rebounded on Wednesday, led by luxury goods stocks.

Meanwhile, Asian stocks rose on Wednesday, with South Korea's Kospi index hitting an all-time high after the International Monetary Fund raised its economic growth forecast for this year from 0.8% to 0.9%.

In corporate news, Nestlé revealed that its sales and operations grew better than expected in the third quarter and maintained its forecast for 2025 as a whole, as the world's largest packaged food company announced its first results since appointing Philippe Navratil as CEO.
