Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced the launch of an integrated international platform for marketing and trading liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), combining the marketing operations of ADNOC Gas and XRG, along with the trading activities managed by ADNOC Trading, in a move aimed at strengthening the group’s presence in global gas markets.
The company said the new platform will contribute to increased operational flexibility and shipping options, and support the growth of its LNG business portfolio, including the Ruwais LNG project and XRG’s international expansion in gas and infrastructure, enabling customers around the world to access additional LNG supplies.
The platform aims to market 47 million tons of liquefied natural gas annually by 2035, making it one of the world's largest platforms in this sector.
ADNOC has appointed Rashid Khalfan Al Mazrouei as President of Marketing and Development of LNG Supply Sources, where he will oversee the marketing operations for the LNG portfolio of both XRG and ADNOC Gas, in addition to securing supply sources, in cooperation with ADNOC Trading, starting from the Abu Dhabi Global Market.
The company confirmed that the existing commercial arrangements for ADNOC gas shipments will remain unchanged, while the new platform is expected to contribute to boosting the company’s profits by improving LNG marketing activities, including future production from the Ruwais project.
