Cryptocurrencies showed mixed performance during Monday's trading, with Bitcoin continuing its movement near the $77,500 level, supported by increased investment demand, as markets await details of the anticipated US economic campaign against Iran.
The world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization continues to benefit from improved investor appetite, after Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their strongest weekly inflows in nearly 10 months, coinciding with a 23% rise in the price of Bitcoin last week.
According to the data, the 13 Bitcoin funds listed in the United States attracted net inflows of $1.92 billion last week, marking the highest level of inflows since early October of last year.
The strength of the flows suggests that investors are viewing the previous pullback in cryptocurrency prices as an opportunity to rebuild positions, especially with liquidity returning to high-risk assets.
The strong rise in Bitcoin over the past week has also boosted buying momentum, as the price increase may prompt investors who were waiting for the market to stabilize to gradually return, while the large gains encourage existing investors to increase their positions.
Meanwhile, cryptocurrency markets are monitoring geopolitical developments in the Middle East, awaiting the United States' announcement of details of a broad economic campaign targeting Iran.
Escalating tensions could lead to increased volatility in global markets, especially if US actions impact oil prices, inflation, or monetary policy expectations.
During trading on Monday, Bitcoin rose 0.14% to $77,437, while Ethereum climbed 0.33% to $2,453.58.
In contrast, Ripple fell 1.26% to $1.4821, a performance that reflects the continued divergence between cryptocurrencies despite the strong momentum Bitcoin is experiencing.
Bitcoin’s ability to maintain its current levels remains linked to continued investment fund flows, along with global liquidity trends and developments in US monetary policy.
